Day 2 started, and Miss Immah arrived to complete her blouse project. Before starting with the fabric, Teacher Mai guided Miss Immah through some essential sewing exercises by practice stitching on paper with pre-drawn patterns, including straight lines, zigzag lines, curves, and other shapes.
Once Miss Immah felt ready, the sewing of the fabric began. She worked on assembling the various parts of the blouse, including the sleeves, neckline, bodice, and hem. For the neckline, Teacher Mai shared a unique technique: drafting the neck pattern onto soft interfacing or glue paper, attaching it to the bodice fabric, and then sewing along the neck shape. Miss Immah carefully cut the neckline following the pattern, ensuring precision.
Moving on to the hem, Miss Immah stitched it neatly, ensuring a professional finish. For the final touches, she added a button and button loop to the back of the blouse and completed the finishing seams with meticulous care.
With Teacher Mai’s expert guidance and creative techniques, Miss Immah successfully completed her first blouse, ready to wear and proudly showcase her achievement.
